Advanced Trigger Point Needling – Two Day Seminar
PIHMA is excited to once again host Adrian Hilyer and Samanatha Hilyer (the 3rd occasion in the past year) to teach another seminar in Advanced Trigger Point Needling. This session will focus on Low-back and hip treatment and will include advanced treatment methods, review of assessment protocols, discussions of common pathologies, and even using KT tape.
“Dry needling may be one of the missing protocols in Acupuncture for addressing the tendino-muscular channel. Most if not all of the acupuncture literature states that this pathway of the body doesn’t have its own points, but may be addressed topically using various methods in order to elicit a therapeutic response. It think this system is amazing and quite effective in any situation where it may be indicated.”
This weekend consists of 2 one-day courses crafted to enable the licensed acupuncturists and acupuncture students to quickly implement new treatment techniques into their practice.
Day One, the introductory course will cover the basic trigger point needling techniques and common trigger points found every day in clinic. It will provide you skills you can immediately integrate into practice and prepare you to learn more advanced trigger point skills. We will discuss the anatomy of each muscle covered in the course including Origin, Insertion, Action, and relevant tests. We will also cover the trigger points in these muscles, their referral patterns and when it may be useful to needle these trigger points. (Participants that have taken this course before may choose to take the course again for review or simply step into the Sunday session)
Day Two, will focus on advanced techniques for treating the low-back and hip. This is a full day of the treatment test, techniques, and clinical use of trigger point needling for treatment of low back and hips. We will discuss the anatomy of each muscle covered in the course including Origin, Insertion, Action, and relevant tests. We will also cover the trigger points in these muscles, their referral patterns and when it may be useful to needle these trigger points. (Introduction course is a required prerequisite for this day)
Those that have taken the Introduction class before may take it again for a discount. Those that have done a full weekend in the past may also take this entire weekend for a discount.
