Announcing our newest addition to the Clinic!

We are excited to announce the newest doctor to our team of Acupuncture Professionals at the Clinic of the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine & Acupuncture (PIHMA), specializing in musculo-skeletal issues.

Ioannis Solos, MD (China), PhD, L.Ac.

Dr. Ioannis Solos (also known as “Yanni”) is classically trained in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. His clinical focus has been mainly in traditional Chinese martial-style acupuncture for musculo-skeletal problems, and lineage-style “tendon and fascia reconditioning manipulations” for needle-sensitive patients with various types of:
inflammations or irritations of the tendons,
low back pain,
neck, shoulder and arm ache,
frozen shoulder,
cervical vertigo,
knee joint sensitivity and related issues.

Prior to coming to Phoenix, he was working for the Guangzhou Zhongxing Sports Trauma Hospital, in China, where he designed their non-surgical spinal correction facility which became famous for scoliosis correction. He is author of: Developing Internal Energy for Effective Acupuncture Practice, Gold Mirrors and Tongue Reflections and Ao Shi Shang Han Jin Jing Lu – Shi Sheng Du Shu Bi Ji (in Chinese).

Dr. Solos holds a Bachelor of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Middlesex University (UK) and a Medical Degree from the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (China). He earned his Master’s of Medicine in Traditional Diagnosis at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, and a Medical Ph.D in Integrative Medicine at the Jinan University in Guangzhou.

An established academician with numerous peer-reviewed articles, he is currently serving as a Council member for the Educational Instruction Committee and the Specialty Committee of Translation for the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies. He enjoys researching, practicing and critically interpreting the ancient philosophies of the medical culture of China, internal martial arts, and health preservation practices.
