Acupuncture Can Increase Fertility

A study published in Fertility and Sterility showed that acupuncture treatments significantly increased pregnancy in patients receiving in vitro fertilization (IVF). The study had 80 patients receive a 25-minute acupuncture treatment prior to fertilization and another 25-minute acupuncture treatment immediately after fertilization. Another 80 patients received no acupuncture treatments. While both groups were able to get pregnant, 34 women who received acupuncture became pregnant compared to only 21 women who did not receive acupuncture.
