PIHMA Faculty and Clinic Supervisor
Sami Rank, L.Ac. graduated from Yo San University and USC, both in Los Angeles. She studied directly under John Chen and Tina Chen, authors of Chinese Medical Herbology and Pharmacology, and is credited in the book as a proofreader. During her training, she was awarded a prestigious internship with Dr. Mao Shing-Ni. She completed a clinical internship in Chengdu, China, at the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She has practiced Chinese Medicine for over fifteen years and also has extensive experience teaching Qi Gong and Yoga. Her passion is taking students and professionals to study in China and to do humanitarian medical work in places such as India, Thailand, and Peru. She has been teaching at PIHMA for over 5 years.
What is one thing that you want students to know about your classes?
I try to make Chinese Medicine come to life with hands-on projects.
What is one of the most valued things you like about acupuncture and oriental medicine?
Every day is like magic!

What is one piece of advice you would say to a new student at PIHMA?
Establish a practice of meditation, which will help your focus and test-taking. Create study groups and stick to a schedule with them.
