Financial Aid

PIHMA offers Financial Aid! Our staff will help you navigate federal financial aid, for those who qualify. We can also create payment plans for each student to make paying for your program as easy and attainable as possible.

Federal Financial Aid

At PIHMA we are committed to helping students reach their educational goals.  We understand the concerns students may have when it comes to the financial investment they are making towards their future.  The Financial Aid Department’s commitment to excellence is here to compassionately serve the students in determining the best financial plan that fits your needs.

The Master of Science in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) and the Master of Science of Acupuncture programs are both accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM or Commission).  As an accredited institution PIHMA has been granted approval by the U.S. Department of Education to participate in Title IV federal student aid programs for qualifying students in our eligible programs.

What types of federal student loans are available under the William D. Ford Direct Loan Program?

For the students attending an eligible program:

  • Direct Unsubsidized Stafford Loans for graduate and professional degree students.  This is a non-need-based loan.  These loans begin accruing interest as soon as it is disbursed.
  • Direct PLUS Loans for graduate and professional degree students. These are credit-based loans that also begin accruing interest upon disbursement of the funds.

Wonderful news, you will use one website to complete the financial aid process. Go to studentaid.gov and complete the free FASFA. For step-by-step instructions use the Finacial Aid Overview Form linked below.

Our Students Pay Off Their Loans

PIHMA is proud to have a 3.1% Default Rate on its student loans. This means that students are able to pay back their loans on time, in part due to their success after graduating from PIHMA.

PIHMA is Approved for Veteran Education Benefits

PIHMA programs are approved for veteran educational benefits by the Arizona State Approving Agency. PIHMA will inquire about each veteran’s previous education and training, and request transcripts from all prior institutions, including military training, traditional college coursework and vocational training. Previous transcripts will be evaluated, and credit will be granted, as appropriate. For more information, refer to www.gibill.va.gov. The veteran’s organizations can also be contacted at the Department of Veterans Affairs Muskogee Regional Office, 125 S. Main St, Muskogee, OK 74401, (800) 827-1000.

Don’t Qualify for Financial Aid?

If you do not qualify for federal financial aid, PIHMA will help create a payment plan that works for you! At PIHMA you are able to take as many or as few classes as you would like each semester, which allows for flexibility in cost.
