Flu Prevention and Treatment: An Integrative Approach with PIHMA TELEHEALTH CLINIC
Sessions on Sale for Asian Medicine & Homeopathy Nourish your health from the comfort of your own home
The PIHMA College & Clinic is now providing Telehealth consultations for any ongoing health concern, as well as prevention and support for the seasonal flu to be used alongside conventional healthcare. Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AOM) and Homeopathic Medicine (HOM) can offer support for influenza, colds, and other health issues.
Although Acupuncture (normally offered in regular onsite clinic treatments, but limited due to recent events) is a primary tool of AOM, there are 5 other branches of Asian medicine which can be supportive: Diet and nutrition, herbal therapies, exercise and movement, acupressure and self-massage, and meditation and mindfulness. A combination of these modalities can be a strong force in staying healthy. Additionally and alternatively, one can use time-tested Homeopathic remedies to rebalance your body.
Reports from China show success in fighting seasonal flu and influenza-like symptoms by a combination of western medicine and Chinese herbal medicine. Similarly, reports from Italy show those who added homeopathic remedies were able to minimize their symptoms of influenza and related symptoms. Some of these remedies (such as Airborne, which is a combination Vitamin C and Chinese herbal remedy, or Oscilliococcinum) can be found in local grocery and drug stores, as well as at the Phoenix Medicinary at PIHMA.
History
Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AOM) has a 4,000-year history of treating all forms of chronic and acute illness, including influenza and the SARS, avian, and H1N1 flu outbreaks.
Homeopathic Medicine (HOM) has a 200-year history of treating pandemic influenza. During the 1918 flu epidemic, US homeopathic hospitals had a mortality rate of 1% compared to conventional hospitals which had mortality rates of 30-60%. Recently, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a finding that homeopathic Oscilliococcinum (sold in most drug stores) was effective in fighting the flu. https://www.natlawreview.com/print/article/ninth-circuit-affirms-jury-verdict-favor-homeopathic-remedy-flu-symptoms
